Planting and care of young vines (SE)

The workshop is being held at Court Garden Vineyard, East Sussex on Wednesday, 24 April, 2013, starting at 10:00 and finishing at 16:00.

This course covers the soil preparations necessary for a new planting, methods of planting, and how to care for the vines in the first year. Students will have a practical session planting vines in the vineyard on site. (Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear)

Your trainer for this course will be D'arcy Gander. Darcy graduated from Plumpton college before joining Nyetimber vineyards in 2006 supervising large areas of new plantings in West Sussex. Two years later he established Vineyard Care, consulting with clients on establishing and managing new vineyards. In 2010 Vineyard Care merged with Vine Works to offer the largest vineyard contracting and establishment services in the UK. Vine Works Ltd works across the whole of the UK and has consulted, established, planted and managed more than 80 vineyards to date.
