MASTERCLASS - Effective pest and Disease Control in Vineyards: Improved Management and Spraying Technique
The masterclass is being held at Aldwick Court Farm on Wednesday, 1 May, 2013, starting at 10:00 and finishing at 16:00.
Growing vines under high disease pressures requires excellent management skills to understand disease biology, create effective control programmes and apply pesticides effectively to tackle problems such as cost of production, quality and yield.
Your trainer for this course will be Andrew Landers. Dr Andrew Landers is from the UK, but joined Cornell University in 1998, also at the Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva. He directs the application technology program, investigating the use of engineering solutions to provide safer spraying. He believes in a multi-disciplinary approach to pesticide application, and is author of a book entitled Effective Vineyard Spraying, which is just about to be released.
The secondary trainer is Wayne Wilcox. Dr Wayne Wilcox is Professor of Plant Pathology at Cornell Universitys New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva. His professional focus is on the applied biology and management of fungal diseases of grapevines.
