Wine analysis for small wineries
The workshop is being held at Custom Crush, Hattingley Vineyard, Hampshire on Wednesday, 10 April, 2013, starting at 10:00 and finishing at 16:00.
This workshop will provide winemakers with practical experience of routine wine analysis, for effective monitoring of the winemaking process. Covering, juice, SO2, MLF, stability, filterability, alcohol, etc. Also theory behind the analysis and interpretation of results. A workshop combining theory and practical (PPE required).
Emma Rice is a graduate of Plumptons BSc in Viticulture and Oenology and holder of the WSET Diploma. Before attending Plumpton Emma worked in both the London wine trade and wine publishing. After graduating in 2006 she went to California and ran the laboratory at Cuvaison Estate Wines in the Napa Valley. This was followed by a cool-climate vintage in the winery and laboratory at Tamar Ridge Wines in Tasmania. Custom Crush UK Ltd was set up in late 2008, offering a mobile analysis service to the UK wine industry. Since then Emma has established a laboratory in West Sussex where she offers more comprehensive analysis.
