WineSkills wins further funding for training from DEFRA
WineSkills, the highly successful training scheme for the UK wine production industry, has been offered a new contract for delivering training events across the UK’s wine regions. The funding will start immediately to March 2014, with a potential extension for a further six months. Eligible members of the UK wine production industry will receive grant funding for training of 70%, making the cost of a one-day course readily affordable. This training will cover all aspects of viticulture, oenology (winemaking) as well as business and marketing.
The WineSkills website provides UK wine producers with a wide range of resources to support all aspects of vinegrowing and winemaking, as well as access to all WineSkills training. The website includes e-books and e-journals, as well reports from the mentors, presentations from the masterclasses and material from many of the workshops. The website is being developed with lots of new information, and will be funded through advertising, specifically aimed at wine producers. The new programme of training is now available on the WineSkills website.
