Safety management in the vineyard

The workshop is being held at Plumpton College, East Sussex on Friday, 23 August, 2013, starting at 10:00 and finishing at 16:00.

This workshop is necessary for vineyard managers and technical operatives to provide the knowledge needed for successful vineyard management. It will cover; legal health and safety obligations, identifying and controlling risks and hazards, COSHH reports, first aid provision, record keeping and reporting, in relation to vineyard operations.

Dave Perrin is the Vineyard Instructor for the Plumpton College vineyards and teaches viticulture subjects on the wine production courses. He holds the Fdip Wine Production and WSET Advanced qualifications. His earlier career was with the MOD equipment testing, and also teaching hang gliding and paragliding. Before joining Plumpton Dave was a vineyard operative at Nyetimber, one of Englands largest vineyards. He has also worked at Breaky Bottom, Sedlescombe and Hobdens vineyards.
