This workshop will cover winter pruning techniques for achieving vine balance and wine quality, as applied to Geneva Double Curtain (GDC) and other divided canopies.
Your trainer for this course will be Dr Richard Smart. Dr Richard Smart is Australian by birth, and now lives in Cornwall. His viticulture career spans 48 years, including research, teaching and consulting. His travels have taken him to many of the worlds wine regions, and over 40 countries. He has a special interest in canopy management, and cool climate viticulture, and more recently grapevine trunk diseases. He is the Viticulture Editor for all 4 editions of the Oxford Companion to Wine, edited by Jancis Robinson.
